The Brookhaven Animal Shelter and Adoption Center staff is dedicated to helping the homeless pets in our township. We will contact you when we might have a dog for you, based upon your application. The Barking Lot focuses on finding good homes for abandoned and DMT dogs in. TO SURRENDER A DOG OR TO INFORM US OF A DOG IN NEED OF RESCUE, PLEASE CALL AND LEAVE A MESSAGE: 1-88. Please note that all potential fosters/adopters will be required to make an appointment to visit the shelter for a "meet and greet" along with any other members and/or dogs that live in the household, as well as provide proof of home ownership or written landlord/homeowner approval. Since 2010 we have matched over 5000 dogs in need with their lifetime families. If you are able to take on a dog that fits any of this criteria, please complete our online Matchmaker Application ( Dog Application / Cat Application) and a member of our staff will be in touch with you. We also have a number of dogs with some behavioral issues such as anxiety, guarding of food, toys or space, stranger reactivity, or some barrier reactivity and will require a very specific type of home.
Zoes House provides medical and foster care while searching for the right forever home for. We have dogs that will require a single pet household as well as some that get along with other dogs. We are a 501(c)3 dog rescue where rescue is just the beginning. We are looking forward to having all of our volunteers back soon!
